On Wednesday evening, Shakira, the renowned Colombian artist, was celebrated by various performers including her father at an event that could potentially have had the highest attendance in the 12 years since it began. The event was held to honor her as the Person of the Year.

Shakira Honored as Latin Grammy Person of the Year

Colombian singer Shakira was celebrated as the Latin Grammy Person of Year, with a plethora of performers paying tribute to her at the event. She arrived in a beautiful blue dress and was seated next to her parents when various acts started performing her songs. Shakira’s father sang a special song for her which brought tears to her eyes. Marc Anthony presented her with the Person of the Year award, commending her success and achievements. Shakira closed out the evening by singing a salsa song dedicated to her hometown Barranquilla in Colombia. The performance was produced by Sony Music Latin’s head Afo Verde and featured a host of famous performers.
